Hermione Granger is one of Harry Potter's best friends. She comes from a Muggle (non-magic) family, and her parents are dentists. She is extremely intelligent, however, she still worries about her grades (such things as whether the teapot she transfigured into a turtle looked more like a tortoise...) She's top of her year despite her lack of magicking history. Hermione sees school as her life and her worst nightmare is failing anything (she'd also rather be dead than expelled...) However, she can be persuaded to break the rules eventually, even if it's only to keep an eye on her friends.
